St. Anthony's Church

St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church & St. Faustina Kowalska Polish Mission

Welcome to St. Anthony's Church.

The people of St. Anthony's Parish and St. Faustina Kowalska Polish Mission, part of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Halifax, are called to be "The People of God". Our faith in God's unconditional love for us, as evidenced in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, and, as testified to by his church, gives us a firm hope in our salvation and the salvation of the world. We respond to God's love with adoration, thanksgiving, and petition through worship and prayer, and charity to our neighbour

We invite you to discover the richness of our parish. Newcomers and visitors are always welcome.

We also have our hall available to rent. Please contact the office for further information.

For information on events, please see our calendar.

Bulletin: 1st Sunday of Advent

Dear Friends,

On this First Sunday of Advent I am inviting all of us to enter into this Year of Faith with hope and commitment. My prayer is that this year of grace will give us the experience of newfound freedom expressed in changes of attitude, mentality and conduct.

I look forward to a renewed enthusiasm for our Church and pray that we may all become witnesses of the truth that Jesus Christ is our Saviour and the Redeemer of everyone willing to listen to his voice and open the door to his message.

So many of you have told me of your concern for your family member or friends, the many baptized Catholics who have given up on their faith and their relationship to the Church. Can we overcome our reluctance and our fears, and propose Jesus Christ to those whom we love?

All of us who claim that Christ is Lord must collaborate together, the baptized and the ordained; old and young; men and women – so that the faith we have received can be shared with those who are searching.

May this Advent stir in us an even greater hope as we look forward to encountering Jesus Christ, personally and profoundly, in ways never before imagined. Our dreams and visions are expressions of our hope. It is Jesus Christ who fulfills our hopes and calms humanity's restless hearts. During this year of grace let us go forward together with courage, with our heads held high, confident that the vision of the Kingdom of God which Jesus Christ proposes is our hope for our Church in our time.

Sincerely,

†Anthony Mancini
Archbishop of Halifax-Yarmouth
