St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church & St. Faustina Kowalska Polish Mission

Welcome to St. Anthony's Church.

The people of St. Anthony's Parish and St. Faustina Kowalska Polish Mission, part of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Halifax, are called to be "The People of God". Our faith in God's unconditional love for us, as evidenced in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, and, as testified to by his church, gives us a firm hope in our salvation and the salvation of the world. We respond to God's love with adoration, thanksgiving, and petition through worship and prayer, and charity to our neighbour

We invite you to discover the richness of our parish. Newcomers and visitors are always welcome.

Bulletin: 22nd Sunday in Ordinary Time

Stained Glass Windows: We are still awaiting installation quotes and total project cost. If anyone would like to donate the cost of installation for a window, in your name or the memory of a deceased loved one, we will have a plaque made with that name. You have the option of paying in installments for your convenience as well. All donation amounts (large or small) are welcomed and appreciated. Please put your full name and donation in an envelope marked ‘stained glass windows’ and drop in the Sunday collection basket. Envelopes are also available on the tables near the entrance of the church. For questions, please contact Nancy at 463-1372. Your donations will help make our church more beautiful as a house of God.

First Friday of the Month: Next Friday, September 7th, we will have Adoration in English, starting at 3:00pm-6:00pm. From 6:00-6:30pm we will recite the Divine Mercy Chaplet and Rosary in Polish. Mass in Polish will start at 6:30pm. There is a sign-up sheet (for ½ hour intervals starting at 4:00pm) to ensure someone is in the church during Adoration) on the table near the main entrance of the church.

This Week: Wednesday, September 5th is the Feast of Blessed Teresa of Calcutta. Saturday, September 8th is the Solemnity of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Pope’s Benedict XVI Prayer Intention for September: ‘That politicians may always act with honesty, integrity, and love for the truth.’ Please keep this in your prayers this month.

Catechism Registration: will begin this Saturday, September 1st after the 4:00pm Mass, Sunday, September 2nd after the 9:00am Mass and after the 10:15am Mass. Our Catechetical Leader, Theresa Lewis will be in the room to right of the pews, for registration. Registration is $20 per child. If you have any questions, please call Theresa at 463-1624.

Pickles, Jams, Beets & Soup! Church Repair Sales: On Saturday, September 22nd we will be having a meal & sale. If you have any pickling jars hanging around, bring them to Mass (a box will be located near the entrance of the church), or we can pick them up. Also if anyone makes crafts that you want to donate, that would be great. If you wish to help or have any questions, contact John LeBlanc at 469-4366.

Flea Market: On October 13th from 9:00am – 1:30pm we will holding another flea market to help raise funds for our church repairs. If you can help with setting up or working the day of the flea market, or have any items to donate, please call Gordon Jewers at 460-5698. Your support is greatly appreciated.

Church Repair Lottery: We will be starting another church repair lottery soon. If you are able to help sell tickets, please call Gordon Jewers at 469-5698. Every ticket sold helps our parish!

Thank You: To everyone who bought lottery tickets to help with our roof repairs. Our last tickets sales brought in $401 for our roof fund. Thank you to Paula MacLellan for donating her $100 winnings last week to St. Anthony’s Parish.
