St. Anthony's Church

St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church & St. Faustina Kowalska Polish Mission

Welcome to St. Anthony's Church.

The people of St. Anthony's Parish and St. Faustina Kowalska Polish Mission, part of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Halifax, are called to be "The People of God". Our faith in God's unconditional love for us, as evidenced in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, and, as testified to by his church, gives us a firm hope in our salvation and the salvation of the world. We respond to God's love with adoration, thanksgiving, and petition through worship and prayer, and charity to our neighbour

We invite you to discover the richness of our parish. Newcomers and visitors are always welcome.

We also have our hall available to rent. Please contact the office for further information.

For information on events, please see our calendar.

Prayer for Christian Unity: This Week of Prayer for Christian Unity is celebrated around the world on January 18-25, which are now also the dates recommended by the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops. However, there has also been a longstanding practice by a number of Christian Churches and ecclesial communities in Canada to celebrate the Week of Prayer on optional dates, in order to include two Sundays, which in 2013 will be January 20-27. This universal week of prayer encourages Christians of all denominations to pray so that all may be one, as Christ desires. All members of the parish should seek to have a deeper understanding of ecumenism.

The phenomenon of migration today is a providential opportunity for the proclamation of the Gospel in the contemporary world. Men and women from various regions of the earth who have not yet encountered Jesus Christ or know him only partially, ask to be received in countries with an ancient Christian tradition. It is necessary to find adequate ways for them to meet and to become acquainted with Jesus Christ and to experience the invaluable gift of salvation.
— Pope Benedict XVI. World Day of Migrants and Refugees - January 20th
