St. Anthony's Church

St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church & St. Faustina Kowalska Polish Mission

Welcome to St. Anthony's Church.

The people of St. Anthony's Parish and St. Faustina Kowalska Polish Mission, part of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Halifax, are called to be "The People of God". Our faith in God's unconditional love for us, as evidenced in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, and, as testified to by his church, gives us a firm hope in our salvation and the salvation of the world. We respond to God's love with adoration, thanksgiving, and petition through worship and prayer, and charity to our neighbour

We invite you to discover the richness of our parish. Newcomers and visitors are always welcome.

We also have our hall available to rent. Please contact the office for further information.

For information on events, please see our calendar.

Bulletin: Divine Mercy

Trust. Remember My Passion, and if you do not believe My words, at least believe My Wounds.
— Diary of St. Faustina ~ 379
Since I came to love God with my whole being and with all the strength of my heart, fear has left me. Even if I were to hear the most terrifying things about God’s justice, I would not fear Him at all, because I have come to know Him well. God is love, and His Spirit is peace. I see now that my deeds which have flowed from love are more perfect than those which I have done out of fear. I have placed my trust in God and fear nothing. I have given myself over to His holy will; let Him do with me as He wishes, and I will still love Him.

The Divine Mercy message is one we can call to mind simply by remembering ABC:

A – Ask for His mercy. Jesus wants us to approach Him in prayer constantly, repenting our sins and asking Him to pour His mercy out upon us and upon the whole world.

B – Be Merciful. Jesus wants us to receive His mercy and let it flow through us to others. He wants us to extend love and forgiveness to others just as He does to us.

C – Completely trust in Jesus. Jesus wants us to know that the graces of His mercy are dependent upon our trust. The more we trust in Jesus, the more we will receive.

Words from Father Krzysztof during our Divine Mercy Retreat:

Give Jesus your hands so He can form, through you...by your goodness, ‘Heaven on Earth’.

When trying to resuscitate his friend (visiting from Poland) after a drowning accident: ‘Jesus, I give you my hands, and You give him life.’ Jesus gave his friend life.
