St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church & St. Faustina Kowalska Polish Mission

Welcome to St. Anthony's Church.

The people of St. Anthony's Parish and St. Faustina Kowalska Polish Mission, part of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Halifax, are called to be "The People of God". Our faith in God's unconditional love for us, as evidenced in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, and, as testified to by his church, gives us a firm hope in our salvation and the salvation of the world. We respond to God's love with adoration, thanksgiving, and petition through worship and prayer, and charity to our neighbour

We invite you to discover the richness of our parish. Newcomers and visitors are always welcome.

Archdiocesan Information:Please save the date for the following important events in the life of the Archdiocese of Halifax-Yarmouth!

August 10: Mass of the Faithful Departed. The Annual Cemetery Mass at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Lower Sackville, 7:00pm. All are welcome.

August 15, 10:30am: Feast of the Assumption of Mary - Archdiocesan Feast Day.Ordination to the Priesthood of Rev. Mr. James O’Connor at Saint Mary’s Cathedral Basilica, 10:30am.

October 7: Annual Archbishop’s Dinner at Pier 21

 

Adoration: There will be no Adoration on Thursday, August 6th & 13th, but will resume on Thursday, August 20th.

Summer Fundraiser: Fresh strawberry jam and rhubarb/strawberry jam will be sold after Mass next weekend, August 8th & 9th. The cost of the jam is $5 per jar. If you would like to order more throughout the summer, please call John LeBlanc at 902.469.4366.

Catechism Update: Family Catechism will start again in the Fall on Saturday, September 26th at 3:00pm. Please fill out a registration form (one for each child) and place it in the collection basket. The registration forms will be on the table near the main entrance. Joanne Nelson will contact you with further information. Thank you!

Polish Festival Raffle: If you are able to help sell a few books of tickets for the “Grand Raffle” for the Polish Festival lottery, please see Gordon Jewers or call him at (902)469-5698.

Country Time Show: The next show will be Sunday, September 20th at 7:00pm. We hope to see you then! Admission is $6.

Sanctuary Floor: If anyone would like to make a donation, please use a blank envelope and write your envelope #, amount, name and address and place it in the Sunday collection basket.

Polish Festival: Will be held on September 12th & 13th. To make a monetary donation towards items needed for the festival, please use the envelope marked ‘Polish Festival’ that is in your box of yearly envelopes, or put your envelope #, amount, name and address on a blank envelope and place in the Sunday collection basket. Thanks!

Volunteers Needed: We are looking for volunteers (to take one month at a time) to help with lawn care ~ mowing, raking, and the gardens. Please see Br. Nathanael or John LeBlanc if you are able to help. If anyone has a gas whipper snipper that they no longer use, it would be a great gift to the parish.

St. Vincent de Paul: Item of the month for August is peanut butter.

Recylables: Please continue to drop off your recyclables before or after Mass. All proceeds go towards our Outreach Program. Please see Rupert Lewis (902.466.6788) or for monetary donations, please see Joanne Nelson (902.464.1981).
