St. Anthony's Church

St. Anthony of Padua Parish & St. Faustina Kowlaska Polish Mission

Welcome to St. Anthony's Church.

The people of St. Anthony's Parish and St. Faustina Kowalska Polish Mission, part of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Halifax, are called to be "The People of God". Our faith in God's unconditional love for us, as evidenced in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, and, as testified to by his church, gives us a firm hope in our salvation and the salvation of the world. We respond to God's love with adoration, thanksgiving, and petition through worship and prayer, and charity to our neighbour

We invite you to discover the richness of our parish. Newcomers and visitors are always welcome.

We also have our hall available to rent. Please contact the office for further information.

For information on events, please see our calendar.

In a vision, Jesus dictated the Chaplet to Saint Maria Faustina in 1935. To pray the Chaplet, use rosary beads and begin with these prayers:

  • Our Father...
  • Hail Mary...
  • I believe in God...

On the large (Our Father) bead of each decade, pray:

"Eternal Father, I offer you the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Your dearly beloved Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world."

On the ten small (Hail Mary) beads of each decade, pray:

"For the sake of His sorrowful passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world."

After five decades to conclude, pray three times:

"Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One, have mercy on us and on the whole world."

You may wish to add (three times):

"Jesus, I trust in You."

Optional Prayers

You may wish to add these prayers:

"Eternal God, in whom mercy is endless and the treasury of compassion inexhaustible, look kindly upon us and increase Your mercy in us, that in difficult moments we might not despair nor become despondent, but with great confidence submit ourselves to Your holy will, which is Love and Mercy itself. Amen."

Heavenly Father, Almighty and Eternal God,You have poured out on your priests the blessing of the Holy Spirit as they share in the priesthood of Christ your Son.We praise You for giving this gift to Your Church.

Through Your priests, Your people are sanctified and invited into the mysteries  of Christ. We thank You for their generous service.Grant to your priests the gift of joy in ministry and life. Renew them each day in their consecration for the salvation of the world. Lord, hear our prayers for those You are calling into Your service now. Bless them with an openness to Your will and a love for Your holy people.

May all your priests be renewed in holiness through the example of your servant, St. John Vianney. Filled with the fire of your love, may they do all for your greater glory.

We ask this through Christ, our Lord.

Amen
