St. Anthony's Church

St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church & St. Faustina Kowalska Polish Mission

Welcome to St. Anthony's Church.

The people of St. Anthony's Parish and St. Faustina Kowalska Polish Mission, part of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Halifax, are called to be "The People of God". Our faith in God's unconditional love for us, as evidenced in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, and, as testified to by his church, gives us a firm hope in our salvation and the salvation of the world. We respond to God's love with adoration, thanksgiving, and petition through worship and prayer, and charity to our neighbour

We invite you to discover the richness of our parish. Newcomers and visitors are always welcome.

We also have our hall available to rent. Please contact the office for further information.

For information on events, please see our calendar.

Report on New Evangelization Meeting

Thank you to Father Jan, Jennie Martell, Peter Dean, Nancy Mills, and Gordon Jewers, who represented us at the meeting on the "New Evangelization" on September 17. Gordon wrote the following report for all to read.

On Saturday morning, September 17th clergy and parish representatives met in the six regions of the dioceses of Halifax and Yarmouth to discuss Archbishop Mancini's vision of the 'New Evangelization'.  Our region met at St Peter's school and St. Anthony's parish was represented by Father Jan, Jennie Martell, Peter Dean, Nancy Mills and Gordon Jewers.

After the opening prayer we watched a DVD presentation from Archbishop Mancini.   Following this we broke into groups to share our ideas and discuss the work to be done at the parish and regional levels.  More meetings will be held over the coming months.  You can find more information on this at the Archdiocese web page (   This will be updated on an ongoing basis.
In the words of Archbishop Mancini, “We are the church and our world awaits the gospel which we will bring.”
