The people of St. Anthony's Parish and St. Faustina Kowalska Polish Mission, part of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Halifax, are called to be "The People of God". Our faith in God's unconditional love for us, as evidenced in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, and, as testified to by his church, gives us a firm hope in our salvation and the salvation of the world. We respond to God's love with adoration, thanksgiving, and petition through worship and prayer, and charity to our neighbour

We invite you to discover the richness of our parish. Newcomers and visitors are always welcome.

Let us remember the victims tragically killed and wounded on 9/11.

‘O God of love, compassion and healing, look on us, people of many faiths and traditions who gather today at this site, the scene of incredible violence and pain.  We ask you in your goodness to give eternal light and peace to all who died here – the heroice first-responders: our fire fighters, police officers, emergency service workers, and Port Authority personnel, along with all the innocent men and women who were victims of this tragedy simply because their work or service brought them here on September 11, 2001.
God of peace, bring your peace to our violent world:  peace in the hearts of all men and women and peace among nations of the earth.  Turn to your way of love those whose hearts and minds are consumed with hatred.  God of understanding, overwhelmed by the magnitude of this tragedy, we seek your light and guidance as we confront such terrible events.  Grant that those whose lives were spared may live so that the lives lost here may not have been lost in vain.  Comfort and console us, strengthen us in hope, and give us the wisdom and courage to work tirelessly for a world where true peace and love reign among nations and in the hearts of all.’

Devotion and Special Mass in Honor of St. Anthony:  We will have a special devotion and Mass on Sunday, October 2nd at 3:00pm for everyone who wants to come and thank St. Anthony for his help, for touching our lives and protecting us. 

Feast of St. Faustina Kowalska:  who died on October 5, 1938 in Krakow, Poland and is the Apostle of Divine Mercy.  We will be celebrating her feast day on Thursday, October 6th at 6:30pm starting with the Chaplet of Divine Mercy and a special Mass in English presided by Father Dariusz Misiolek. 

Adoration for Divine Mercy:  Starting on Friday, October 7th and on the first Friday of each month, there will be Adoration for Divine Mercy, starting with the Chaplet at 3:00pm, followed by private Adoration until the Mass in Polish at 6:30pm.  Everyone is welcome. 

Correction on Front of Bulletin from Archdiocese:  The notice for the Memorial Mass for Archbishop Emeritus Austin Burke should read Wednesday, September 14, not Tuesday.

Country Time Show:   The next show will be September 18 at 7:00pm.  Admission $6.  Master of Ceremonies - Al Hollingsworth, Back up Band is Grover Country featuring:  Beverly Johnson, Chantal Beaulieu, Brandon Walker, Mitch Owen, Jim Tynes, Billy Bob & Frank Grandy.

Mason Jar Donations:  Anyone who has mason jars to donate to St. Anthony’s, please drop off at Mass or call John LeBlanc at 469-4366 if you would him to pick them up.  A box is set up near the entrance of the church.  We will be making pickles to help raise funds for the roof repairs.  Anyone interested him helping, please contact John.  Thank you!

Join Us For Supper!:  On Saturday, October 1st after the 4:00pm Mass.  As we begin Fall we would like to invite all of you and your friends to a 'welcome back' free supper.  After supper you will have an opportunity to purchase some home made pickles, fudge and if you liked the soup which will be served for the supper, you can purchase pre-packaged soup mix.  All proceeds will go to our roof repairs.

Pickle Making:  Friday, September 16th at 6:00pm in the hall.  Anyone interested in helping prepare the pickles are welcome to join in and encouraged to come and help.  If you have any questions, call John LeBlanc at 469-4366.  Thank you! 

2011 Our Lady of Mount Carmel Annual Bus Pilgrimage to Monestery:  Sunday, September 25th,   leaving from St. Joseph’s Church, Shad Bay at 8:30am for pick-up of pilgrams at St. Anthony’s Parish at 9:15am and returning approximately 9:00pm.   Price is $50.  Call Father Dariusz Misiolek at 852-2763 ext. 3 if you are interested in attending or for more information.
