Welcome to St. Anthony's Church.

The people of St. Anthony's Parish and St. Faustina Kowalska Polish Mission, part of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Halifax, are called to be "The People of God". Our faith in God's unconditional love for us, as evidenced in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, and, as testified to by his church, gives us a firm hope in our salvation and the salvation of the world. We respond to God's love with adoration, thanksgiving, and petition through worship and prayer, and charity to our neighbour

We invite you to discover the richness of our parish. Newcomers and visitors are always welcome.

Second Collection on November 23rd & 24th will include the Archbishop’s Annual Appeal, as well as the Development & Peace envelopes. The Development & Peace donations will be matched by the Government of Canada and sent to our sisters and brothers for the on-going Relief Efforts in the Philippines.

Advent Reconciliation Services: Wednesday, December 4th at 7:00pm – St. Peter’s Parish; Thursday, December 12th at 7:00pm at Blessed Pope John XXIII; Wednesday, December 18th at 7;00pm – St. Vincent de Paul Parish.

 There will be Reconciliation in Polish/English on Friday, December 13th at 7:00pm at

St. Anthony’s Parish.

New Year’s Eve Dinner & Dance: Hot supper and good music and glass of champagne! December 31st at 8:00pm. $25 per person ~ see Gordon Jewers for tickets or call him at 469-5698. Come out and enjoy New Year’s Eve with us!

Polish Luncheon: Everyone is invited to the luncheon put on by our Polish Community this Sunday, November 24th at 2:00pm. $10 per plate (not including coffee/tea or dessert).

Potluck – December 7th: The sign-up sheet for the Potluck to raise funds for the Archbishop’s Annual Appeal is located at the main entrance of the church. If you can donate something for the potluck, please sign up! The cost per plate for the Potluck is $8. The supper will take place after the 4:00pm Mass on Saturday, December 7th. Thank you for your help and support!

Backpack Project: Our goal is to fill our quota of gift bags with useful items for adult men and women patrons of Feeding Others of Dartmouth and other local charities who do not have the resources to provide for themselves. All of the bags with the items lists have been generously taken home and are being filled. Please remember to bring them back to the church on or before Thursday, December 12th. Anyone willing to help sort items and fill the backpacks are encouraged to be at St. Peter’s Parish Centre on Saturday, December 14th at 1:00pm. Lunch will be provided.

Country Time Show: Next show is Sunday, December 15th at 7:00pm. Admission is only $6! Lottery Tickets draw will take place at the Country Time Show in December. You can purchase tickets from Gordon or Shayne after Mass.

Advent Gifting with Chalice: Give two gifts in one: prayer to a loved one; joy, hope and peace to someone in need. On the 1st Sunday of Advent, we will distribute to each family a set of three prayer cards and a Gifting Booklet. You are encouraged to pray for three people during the three weeks of Advent and, if you chose, give to someone in need on their behalf.  Thank you for your generous support.

Choir Practice: Is now being held on Thursdays at 6:00pm. New members are welcomed!

2014 Church Envelopes: If you currently do not have a box of church envelopes, and would like a set for 2014, please call the parish office at 463-1372 and leave your name, address and phone number. You will receive an Income Tax Receipt (each February) for your donations towards St. Anthony’s Parish.

St. Vincent de Paul: ‘Item of the Month’ for November is a can of beans. Thank you!

Bottle Drive: We are urging everyone who can donate their recyclables to bring them to the boardroom (in the church) before or after Mass. All proceeds go towards our Outreach Program.

2014 St. Joseph’s Yearly Sunday Missals: are available for $5 each.

Second Collection for Canada’s Aboringinal People: Second Sunday of Advent, December 7-8, 2013. This supports ongoing healing and education programs to help build a better future with Aboriginal people across Canada.
