St. Anthony's Church

St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church & St. Faustina Kowalska Polish Mission

Welcome to St. Anthony's Church.

The people of St. Anthony's Parish and St. Faustina Kowalska Polish Mission, part of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Halifax, are called to be "The People of God". Our faith in God's unconditional love for us, as evidenced in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, and, as testified to by his church, gives us a firm hope in our salvation and the salvation of the world. We respond to God's love with adoration, thanksgiving, and petition through worship and prayer, and charity to our neighbour

We invite you to discover the richness of our parish. Newcomers and visitors are always welcome.

We also have our hall available to rent. Please contact the office for further information.

For information on events, please see our calendar.

Bulletin: 4th Sunday in Ordinary Time

Please note: This Thursday only Mass will be at 6:30pm. There will be no morning Mass.

Jesus taught about God’s love for us and how we are to share that love with others.

Although the Gospels do not always tell us exactly what Jesus was saying as He taught, we know well His message…

Let God’s love for you permeate your lives; love God in return, and out of that love, serve the needs of one another. The ways of the world, self pride, anger or greed are not to define you.

Supplication to Saint Stephen

O Saint Stephen, first of the martyrs, who was filled with fortitude, grace, and love, whose guiltless face shone like the face of a pure angel, I beseech thee, by the grace which rendered them worthy to see heaven opened and Jesus sitting at the right hand of the Father, that thou wouldst, by thy prayers, procure for me from God a pure conscience, and a holy, meek love, that like thee I may readily forgive those who injure me; may pray for them; may not only desire for them whatever is good, but may do them good indeed, and thereby merit the grace of a happy death. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

Pope Benedict XVI on The Eucharist: Speaking at his weekly general audience January 11th, the pope focused on Jesus and the Last Supper:The Eucharist, the Sacrament of His body and blood. Jesusgift of himself anticipates His sacrifice on the cross and his glorious resurrection. He transforms His violent death into a free act of giving himself for others. Violence immediately is transformed into an active, free and redemptive sacrifice. The Eucharist is food for pilgrims, which become a source of strength also for those who are tired, worn out and lost.
